Feasibility and safety of pyeloplasty as day care surgery in pediatric patients: Initial experience.

Objective: To share experience feasibility and safety of pyeloplasty as day care procedure in pediatric patients. Study Design: Prospective Quasi Experimental study. Setting: Department Urology, Saidu Teaching Hospital, Swat. Period: 1st July 2018 to 31st March 2020. Material & Methods: Pediatric patients presented with complaints pelviureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) were carefully selected for pyeloplasty. They electively admitted on the same operated morning hours discharged after check by operating surgeon if they fulfill criteria surgery. Results: A total 82 planned 86.16% surgery within 12 while 13% 24 hour or more. Among 4.2% readmitted social reasons, 2.8 % had fever patient facility intravenous antibiotics. 1.4% gross hematuria managed conservatively , complaining pain adjusted medication outpatient basis telephonic contact stent symptoms reassured. Conclusion: Day is safe cost effective careful who due PUJO.
